So something pretty cool happened to us this week. Thanks to somebody sharing our story, our information and blog popped up in the inbox of a writer for Living Magazine. Living Magazine is a community based magazine that has a different magazine for different communities. Chances are you have gotten one of their magazines in the mail before; either Forney Living, Frisco Living, Little Elm Living, the list goes on. Anyways, when writer Michelle Wallace received our story she felt God pulling her to reach out to us. She writes for many Living Magazines for different communities, so needless to say she receives a lot of stories that she is not always able to write about.
We had a strange request for Michelle, we asked if we could record our meeting for a video diary that we one day hope to share with our baby. She was very sweet and accommodating, and allowed us to meet at her beautiful home and do our interview at a nearby park.
We ALMOST got the entire interview on video, but A) I love to talk. B) Jill loves to cry. and C) The video only had 68 minutes of recording space.
The interview went fantastic, and we loved meeting Michelle! She was so sweet, and we were just as interested in her stories as she was ours. Without all of the love and support of every one of you sharing our story, this would not have been possible. So I would just like to thank you all! I would like to also thank the wonderful people at Living Magazine for finding us interesting enough to include us in their publication.
Look for our story in the October issue of Forney Living. You can also find them at http://livingmagazine.net. We are so grateful to have our story reach even more people than we thought possible. We will be truly blessed if our story touches someones heart to follow our journey, but more importantly, it might open the eyes of a family to God's hand in adoption. Our journey could be the thing that opens another family's home to the beauty of adoption, and prove that all is possible through Him.
We are your typical high school sweethearts, and have been together more than 12 years. Our struggle to become parents has been a long road. It has been truly amazing watching Gods plan unfold right in front of our eyes. Follow us on this journey to see how He fills our empty nursery and open hearts with the baby He has already picked to be ours.
I LOVE this blog. Sending up lots of prayers for the two of you! - Lauren Higgins
