Closer And Closer

09 September 2013

We are so happy today because we made one more financial step forward. We made another "Baby Account" deposit today of close to $1,000. We received multiple donations from many different fundraisers, including a football pot fundraiser put together by our sweet friend/2nd mom Lolly.

There will be a weekly football pot, put together on our behalf, every Dallas Cowboys game. If you are interested in participating it is $10 per square and pays $100 forward and $25 backward every quarter. This will give you a chance to win some cash while making a much appreciated donation. You can claim your square by making a $10 donation using the "fundraiser" drop down menu or by contacting Laurie Barkham (Lolly). The numbers will be drawn each week before kickoff, and I will let you know what to be looking for during the game!

We were also presented with an opportunity to make some extra "Baby Johnson" money by a long time friend of ours. She needed a designated driver to drive all the girls around for her bachelorette party. We just so happened to have a very large van, so we jumped at the chance to make some baby money and have a good time. I drove all 15 party goers and in return they each made a $20 adoption donation, and some even a little extra. We had such a great time and could not be more grateful for Heather including us in her fun special day!

We are also so happy that our Pieces Of Love puzzle fundraiser has already started filling up with sponsors. There are still many puzzle pieces available if you have been considering sponsoring, and making your imprint on our lives and our baby's nursery wall.

We are coming closer and closer everyday to adding our much awaited family member! We are doing pretty good with our new beans and rice lifestyle, and will be turning in our first payment and cost of home study very soon. We are so thankful for the countless number of you that continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We do have some discouraging days because we are so anxious to get to meet our baby, but on almost a daily basis someone will share some kind words and it turns us right back around. We know the saying "all good things come to those who wait" and we remind ourselves that we are not in control of this journey. God has already chosen this baby that will forever change our lives, and in His own time, He will be the one to introduce us to the miracle that has already stolen our hearts.
