We have been lacking on the blog posts for a little while, but it has been for good reason.
A couple weeks ago we had a very exciting gift waiting in the mail for us. OUR OFFICIAL ACCEPTANCE into the Infant Adoption Program. For those of you going through your adoption process know that we still have a lot of hills to climb. But I am sure that you can also relate to our tremendous excitement. When you have every aspect of your life peeled back and analyzed, you start to ask the question "Are we going to be good parents?" When you have your relationship and finances dissected by professionals you just pray that they will think that our home is as ready for a baby as our heart.
Well fortunately enough they did! And it is finally OFFICIAL, we are going to be parents! No we don't know when or who, but we know that these "baby steps" bring us a little closer to our first child.
I know it might seem kind of silly because yes we knew that we were already accepted. But we have been waiting for so long just to see this piece of paper. So Jill went and made about 10 copies and you can find our certificate framed and hanging in almost every room of our house. We were so excited to get the certificate that we didn't even notice the date at first glance. We talked to our caseworker, Jennifer, the day after and she asked us if we noticed it. The date that our certificate was signed and printed was February 9, our anniversary. We had no idea that the best anniversary gift to both of us would be coming in the mail a week later.
We can't help but compare every step of our journey to a pregnancy. Once we opened our packet and pulled out the certificate, Jill said "We just made it through our second trimester"! We know that this ride is far from over, but we look forward to every minute bringing us closer to meeting the newest Johnson.
your blog is so sweet! stumbled upon you guys through IG and just love your hearts and passion for adoption. My husband and I are currently in the process of completing our home study, so to see people a few steps ahead of us is SO encouraging! I love this bonded world of adoption! I know how excited you are--I feel that same way! Thanks for sharing your journey! If you want to check out our's: www.treasureandheart.com
